Bluebarge Horizon EU Project
The BlueBARGE Consortium, led by the American Bureau of Shipping, is dedicated to designing, developing, and demonstrating an optimal power barge solution for supplying electrical power to moored and anchored vessels offshore.

Our efficient solution optimizes power and alternative fuel delivery, ensuring seamless operations for vessels. The innovative concept is a game-changer in the industry, offering a powerful solution for energy management. Alternative fuels include LNG, Methanol and Hydrogen and regular shore power plugs. The feasibility study will cover the applicability of different alternative fuels considering safety, regulations and ease of operations.
Technology Lock-in
Versatile Technology
We are looking for ways to reduce technology lock-in concerns especially during the transition times. Therefore, our solutions are modular and interchangeable. This means, the unit can deliver not only power plugs but also different plugs thanks to the modular structure. No need to concern for technology lock in investments will have longer time frame than the proposed technology.
